Cabinet reshuffle, some junior Minister eleveted

 On October 23, 2024, President Bola Tinubu announced a significant cabinet reshuffle, appointing seven new ministers, dismissing five, and swapping ten others. Notably, some junior ministers were elevated to substantive positions. 

Key changes include:

- **Morufu Alausa**, previously Minister of State for Health, is now the Minister of Education, succeeding Prof. Tahir Mamman.

- **Imaan Sulaiman-Ibrahim**, formerly Minister of State for Police Affairs, has been appointed Minister of Women Affairs, replacing Uju Kennedy-Ohanenye.

- **Ayodele Olawande** has been promoted from Minister of State for Youth Development to the Minister of Youth Development.


This reshuffle reflects President Tinubu's strategy to enhance his cabinet's effectiveness and address ongoing challenges.

BREAKING: Gunmen Kidnap Passengers, Including Former SUBEB Chairman, in Niger State

A group of armed gunmen have kidnapped multiple travellers in Niger State,   The attack occurred along the Ibbi–Bussa road in the Mokwa–New Bussa axis after the assailants ambushed a highway and engaged in a shootout with police officers. Among those abducted is Alhaji Bawa Niworo, a former chairman of the Niger State Universal Basic Education Board (NSUBEB).  Reports indicate that he, along with others—including a lawyer identified as Barrister Ahmad—were en route to Minna, the state capital, when their convoy was intercepted and they were taken into a nearby forest. According to local sources, the victims also include several traders who were returning from a weekly market in New Bussa. In a colorful and well-attended ceremony held at the palace of the Sarkin Sudan of Wurno, the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Comptroller for Works, Engr (Dr) Yakub Usman , was turbaned with the prestigious traditional title of Tafarkin Wurno .
