The Kano State Hisbah Board has issued a warrant for Auwal Sankara, the Commissioner for Special Duties in Jigawa State, over allegations of adultery. The Commander General of the board, Aminu Daurawa, made this announcement during a press conference in Kano. Sankara is accused of being found with a married woman, Tasleem Nabegu, in an uncompleted building, following intelligence tracking based on repeated complaints from the woman's husband, Nasiru Bulama.

Bulama, who is the father of Nabegu's two children, had accused the commissioner of engaging in an illicit affair with his wife. Hisbah initially attempted to mediate between the two families, but only Bulama attended the meeting, while Sankara reportedly refused and later evaded authorities after being bailed. The case has now been taken to court.

Daurawa also called on the public to report any suspicious or illicit activities to Hisbah. Meanwhile, Bulama has appealed to the government and relevant authorities to help him secure justice, emphasizing that adultery is a serious offense.

This case highlights the role of the Hisbah Board in enforcing moral and religious codes in northern Nigeria.
