Lambata to Suleja road need urgent attention

 Motorists and commuters traveling between Minna and Suleja are facing significant delays due to deteriorating road conditions, particularly on the stretch between Lambata and Suleja. 

A journey that should normally take two hours now often extends to five or six hours. 

The poor state of this road has led to frequent accidents, particularly involving heavy trucks, which end up blocking the entire road and causing severe traffic congestion.

Navigating the route from Izom through Abuchi to Suleja sounds exhausting! With the trucks clogging the main path and the alternative road in such poor condition, driving must feel like a test of endurance and caution, especially with those steep hills and valleys. 

These road conditions have become hazardous, with the frequent accidents and blockages posing safety risks and logistical challenges for both personal and commercial transportation. Commuters and transport operators are calling for urgent intervention by relevant authorities to address the road’s condition, reduce accident risks, and ensure smoother travel between Minna and Suleja.

Over 20 people kidnapped along Mariga -Kontagora - speaker

  Over 20 passengers have reportedly been kidnapped on the Mariga-Kontagora road in Niger State, according to Barrister Abdulmalik Sarkin-Daji, the Speaker of the Niger State House of Assembly.  The incident occurred when bandits blocked the road between Baban-Lamba and Beri. Sarkin-Daji expressed concern about the military's dismissal of claims regarding bandit activities near military training grounds in Kontagora,  noting that victims previously kidnapped had reported being held in a forest close to the Kontagora Army Barracks.  He urged the military to take the feedback from affected communities seriously and work to eliminate the bandits operating in the area.  The Speaker emphasized that the military's role is to protect citizens, calling on federal authorities to address the situation effectively.
