Minimum wage: Kaduna govt approved N72,000, to provide free transport

 Governor Uba Sani of Kaduna State has announced a new minimum wage of N72,000 for civil servants, effective November 2024.

 This decision aims to enhance workers' welfare and improve living conditions for the vulnerable population. 

Additionally, a Free Transportation Scheme will be launched, providing 100 CNG buses for civil servants' commuters, managed by a Joint Management Committee with labour representatives. 

Governor Sani emphasized his commitment to improving the lives of the less privileged and transforming Kaduna State into a model for social welfare interventions.

NAF Plane crash in Niger State A Nigerian Air Force (NAF) aircraft went down on Saturday near Karabonde, a small community in Borgu Local Government Area of Niger State. The crash occurred around 4:00 p.m., according to eyewitnesses. Local residents reported that the two pilots sustained injuries. One resident noted that the cause of the crash remains unknown as investigations are still underway. BREAKING: Gunmen Kidnap Passengers, Including Former SUBEB Chairman, in Niger State

A group of armed gunmen have kidnapped multiple travellers in Niger State,   The attack occurred along the Ibbi–Bussa road in the Mokwa–New Bussa axis after the assailants ambushed a highway and engaged in a shootout with police officers. Among those abducted is Alhaji Bawa Niworo, a former chairman of the Niger State Universal Basic Education Board (NSUBEB).  Reports indicate that he, along with others—including a lawyer identified as Barrister Ahmad—were en route to Minna, the state capital, when their convoy was intercepted and they were taken into a nearby forest. According to local sources, the victims also include several traders who were returning from a weekly market in New Bussa.
