Rep Member threatened Bolt driver

I’ll Make You Disappear,’ Says Abia Rep Alex Ikwechegh After Assaulting Driver**

Alex Ikwechegh, a member of the House of Representatives representing Aba North & South, has come under fire after a viral video showed him assaulting an e-hailing driver, Stephen Abuwatseya. The incident occurred at Ikwechegh’s residence in Abuja when the driver arrived to deliver a package.

In the footage, Ikwechegh can be seen slapping and berating the driver, claiming that the driver’s request for him to come outside was disrespectful due to his status. He threatened the driver, stating, “I can make this man disappear in the whole of Nigeria and nothing will happen,” and boasted about his power and influence.

The video sparked outrage, leading to calls for accountability and condemnation from various quarters, including Ikwechegh's own party, the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), which has announced plans for sanctions against him.

This incident follows a controversial political background for Ikwechegh, who was recently reinstated as a representative after a tribunal ruling on electoral disputes involving his rival.

As the public reacts, the police have been involved, and further investigations into the assault are expected.
