Dangote Petroleum Refinery 

The Dangote Petroleum Refinery has announced a reduction in the price of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) from ₦990 to ₦970 per litre. 

In a statement issued on Sunday, Anthony Chiejina, the Group Chief Branding and Communications Officer of Dangote Group, highlighted the reduction as a gesture of appreciation to Nigerians and recognition of government support.

Chiejina emphasized that the price adjustment reflects the company's commitment to fostering domestic enterprise and supporting Nigeria's collective well-being.

 He also assured Nigerians of the refinery's dedication to maintaining high-quality, environmentally friendly, and sustainable petroleum products.

The statement further underscored the refinery's ongoing efforts to increase production capacity to meet and exceed the country's fuel consumption demands, addressing any concerns about potential supply shortages.

Over 20 people kidnapped along Mariga -Kontagora - speaker

  Over 20 passengers have reportedly been kidnapped on the Mariga-Kontagora road in Niger State, according to Barrister Abdulmalik Sarkin-Daji, the Speaker of the Niger State House of Assembly.  The incident occurred when bandits blocked the road between Baban-Lamba and Beri. Sarkin-Daji expressed concern about the military's dismissal of claims regarding bandit activities near military training grounds in Kontagora,  noting that victims previously kidnapped had reported being held in a forest close to the Kontagora Army Barracks.  He urged the military to take the feedback from affected communities seriously and work to eliminate the bandits operating in the area.  The Speaker emphasized that the military's role is to protect citizens, calling on federal authorities to address the situation effectively.
