#EndBadGovernmentProtesters: Kaduna Govt. Provided Handset and N100,000 as gifts to the recently released victims
The Kaduna State Government, under Governor Sani Uba, has provided gifts of mobile phones and N100,000 to 39 #EndBadGovernance protesters who were recently released after spending three months in detention. The detainees, including minors, were arrested during nationwide protests and charged with treason, but these charges were dropped after the Attorney General of the Federation (AGF) applied for their dismissal.
Following the release, the government announced that some detainees would receive start-up capital, vocational training, and employment opportunities. The state has also pledged to ensure the rehabilitation and education of the detained minors. The Secretary to the State Government, Dr. Abdulkadir Muazu, confirmed that the financial support and mobile phones were given as a gesture of goodwill to aid the detainees in reintegrating into society. The detainees were also advised by religious leaders to embrace moral teachings and avoid negative influences.
