Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago of Niger State has declared a State of Emergency on Education in the Niger North Senatorial District. This announcement was made during his project tour of the region.

The governor expressed deep concern about the inadequate number of schools in many communities, particularly in areas such as Bangi in Mariga Local Government Area. He emphasized that the emergency declaration is aimed at addressing these challenges comprehensively.

Key measures announced include:

Establishing new schools in the zone.
Renovating and equipping all existing day schools with modern facilities.

In addition to addressing educational challenges, Governor Bago also committed to solving the water scarcity problem in the district. Furthermore, he assured residents that his administration is actively working to eliminate all forms of criminal activity in the area.

The declaration underscores the administration's focus on improving infrastructure and tackling issues affecting quality of life in the district.
