FG to Construct Yauri Agwara bridge - Gov. Umar Bago
At a meeting with the Agwara people at Central Primary School, Governor Umaru Bago outlined his administration's plans to address their concerns and improve their welfare:
Bridge Construction: Conveying President Tinubu’s long-held aspiration, Governor Bago assured the community that the Agwara-Yauri Bridge in Kebbi State would be constructed.Farming Support: The state government will allocate ₦2.5 billion to support farming activities in Agwara. A government building will also be established to enable the governor to oversee farming initiatives firsthand.
Road Projects: The Agwara-Lumma-Borgu road, a federal project critical for transporting farm produce, will be completed. Additionally, a 5-km road project initiated by the state government will be finished with streetlights installed.
Educational Sponsorships: The governor pledged to sponsor 100 science students from Agwara for studies, both domestically and abroad.
Fair Appointments: Two permanent secretaries from Agwara have been appointed immediately to ensure fair representation in government.
Healthcare Facilities: A Type 2 Primary Health Care Center will be constructed to meet the health needs of the community.
Solar Lights and Water Access: 200 additional solar lights will be installed, and 10 new boreholes will be provided to improve living conditions in the area.
Resuscitation of Bi-Water Project: The governor announced plans to revive the Bi-Water Project to enhance water supply.
Peace and Security: He appealed for peaceful coexistence and assured efforts to address security challenges in the region.
Free Trade Zone: Plans are underway to establish a free trade zone connecting Niger State with neighboring countries, including Benin and Togo.
Governor Bago reaffirmed his administration's commitment to ensuring the well-being and development of the Agwara community, urging unity and cooperation among its people.
