The Niger State Government, under the leadership of Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago, has announced plans to include the reconstruction of Bangi Road in Mariga Local Government Area in the 2025 budget. This significant decision was made during the Governor’s inspection of road projects in Bangi, the headquarters of Mariga, as part of his ongoing statewide project monitoring tour.

The Governor emphasized that the reconstruction of Bangi Road would not only improve connectivity to neighboring states but also serve as a catalyst for agricultural growth in the region. Mariga Local Government Area, known for its extensive agricultural activities, stands to benefit immensely from better infrastructure.

"The road will boost farming activities, making it easier for farmers to transport their produce to markets," Governor Bago stated. He also encouraged the youth to embrace agriculture, highlighting its potential to improve livelihoods and contribute to the state’s prosperity.

During the visit, key political figures, including Abdullahi Idris Garba (Member of the Federal House of Representatives), Abdulmalik Sarkin Daji (Speaker of the Niger State House of Assembly), and Aminu Musa Bobi (State APC Chairman), commended the Governor for his dedication to infrastructure development and other impactful projects.

They reaffirmed their commitment to supporting the administration's efforts and called on the people of Niger State to remain patient and supportive of the government's initiatives.

In addition to the Bangi Road project, Governor Bago inspected the ongoing remodeling of the Aminu Isah Kontagora General Hospital in Bangi. The Governor’s administration has prioritized the enhancement of healthcare infrastructure to ensure accessible and quality healthcare services for all residents.

Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago, popularly referred to as the “Farmer Governor” due to his strong advocacy for agriculture, continues to champion initiatives aimed at transforming Niger State’s economy. By focusing on infrastructure development and agricultural prosperity, the administration aims to unlock the region’s potential and improve the quality of life for its citizens.

As preparations for the 2025 budget take shape, the inclusion of strategic projects like the Bangi Road reconstruction demonstrates the administration’s commitment to fostering economic growth and community well-being.
