Smart phones to be replaced by another technology - Mark Zuckerberg predicts

Mark Zuckerberg predicts that smartphones will be replaced by smart glasses within a decade. 

He envisions a future where people interact with digital content through augmented reality (AR) wearables instead of handheld devices. 

Meta and Apple are already investing heavily in this technology, with products like Apple's Vision Pro signaling a shift toward a screen-free experience.

The transition to smart glasses will be driven by advancements in AI and AR, allowing users to access information, make calls, and navigate without looking at a phone. 

However, challenges like battery life, processing power, and privacy concerns remain. 

While smartphones won’t disappear overnight, history suggests that more convenient technologies eventually replace older ones.

Public reactions are mixed, with some excited about the innovation and others skeptical about practicality, comfort, and potential health risks. 

Many question whether people will adopt smart glasses on a large scale, comparing them to past tech failures like 3D glasses.

Over 20 people kidnapped along Mariga -Kontagora - speaker

  Over 20 passengers have reportedly been kidnapped on the Mariga-Kontagora road in Niger State, according to Barrister Abdulmalik Sarkin-Daji, the Speaker of the Niger State House of Assembly.  The incident occurred when bandits blocked the road between Baban-Lamba and Beri. Sarkin-Daji expressed concern about the military's dismissal of claims regarding bandit activities near military training grounds in Kontagora,  noting that victims previously kidnapped had reported being held in a forest close to the Kontagora Army Barracks.  He urged the military to take the feedback from affected communities seriously and work to eliminate the bandits operating in the area.  The Speaker emphasized that the military's role is to protect citizens, calling on federal authorities to address the situation effectively.
