Niger State Deputy Governor reportedly considering resignation.

The tension between Niger State Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago and his deputy, Yakubu Garba, has escalated amid rumors that Garba is contemplating resignation.
Garba’s recent move from his official residence near the Justice Legbo Kutigi International Conference Centre has further fueled speculation of a fallout between the two leaders.
The rift began soon after they assumed office in May 2023, according to the source.
Some insiders attribute the conflict to a leaked recording of a private conversation between the deputy governor and other government officials, in which Garba allegedly criticized the governor’s actions.
The recording reportedly reached the governor and sparked his dissatisfaction.
The rift between the governor and his deputy further deepened when the governor rejected the deputy's preferred consensus Chairman candidate from his local government area.
