Councillor Caught With a Married Woman in Minna

In continuation of the raids by the Liquor Control Agency on unauthorized liquor-selling spots in Niger State, a serving councillor and chairman of councillors was caught in a hotel in Minna with a married woman in a room engaging in immoral activity.

The Director-General of the agency, Alhaji Hamisu Mohammed Kogunan Tegina, who confirmed the incident, said there is a need for men to pay close attention to their families considering the kind of immoral acts some people are committing in the city.

Kogunan Tegina also confirmed that the agency will not relent in its efforts to reduce the number of drinking joints in society.

He added that they are currently using a persuasive approach, whereby many owners of illegal establishments are seeking small grace periods to shut down their places. 

However, he warned that anyone granted leniency and later violates the terms will soon face serious consequences.

Finally, he urged the public to continue supporting their efforts to ensure the success of their mission.

Over 20 people kidnapped along Mariga -Kontagora - speaker

  Over 20 passengers have reportedly been kidnapped on the Mariga-Kontagora road in Niger State, according to Barrister Abdulmalik Sarkin-Daji, the Speaker of the Niger State House of Assembly.  The incident occurred when bandits blocked the road between Baban-Lamba and Beri. Sarkin-Daji expressed concern about the military's dismissal of claims regarding bandit activities near military training grounds in Kontagora,  noting that victims previously kidnapped had reported being held in a forest close to the Kontagora Army Barracks.  He urged the military to take the feedback from affected communities seriously and work to eliminate the bandits operating in the area.  The Speaker emphasized that the military's role is to protect citizens, calling on federal authorities to address the situation effectively.
