JAMB Registrar
Prof. Ishaq Oloyede, Registrar of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), publicly apologized and became emotional during a press conference over issues affecting the 2025 UTME. Held at JAMB’s headquarters in Abuja, Oloyede admitted to “one or two errors” but revealed that deeper systemic issues—suspected sabotage—were uncovered during investigations, particularly in Lagos and the South-East.

As a result, the UTME will be rescheduled for 379,997 candidates in the affected areas, with candidates receiving text notifications from JAMB starting the next day.

Oloyede accepted full responsibility for the mishaps and stressed that the rescheduling was essential to preserve the exam’s integrity and fairness.

  NELFUND Condemns Tuition Fee Hikes, Refund Delays by Tertiary Institutions The Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) has criticised what it described as unethical practices by some tertiary institutions in the implementation of the Federal Government's Student Loan Scheme. The agency accused the institutions of delaying or refusing to refund students who had already paid their tuition fees before NELFUND disbursed the loan funds.
