JAMB Registrar Prof. Ishaq Oloyede, Registrar of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), publicly apologized and became emotional during a press conference over issues affecting the 2025 UTME. Held at JAMB’s headquarters in Abuja, Oloyede admitted to “one or two errors” but revealed that deeper systemic issues—suspected sabotage—were uncovered during investigations, particularly in Lagos and the South-East. As a result, the UTME will be rescheduled for 379,997 candidates in the affected areas, with candidates receiving text notifications from JAMB starting the next day. Oloyede accepted full responsibility for the mishaps and stressed that the rescheduling was essential to preserve the exam’s integrity and fairness.
